Coffee and scones both exceptional Well worth the deviation off the O'Keefe rail trail for a quick stop.

The veggie burger can be made vegan. It was enjoyable and the fries were delicious. The menu clearly marks vegan options. However, my last two visits were disappointing. The burger was cold and the fries were old. The vegan pizza cost $21 and had very little toppings - just tomato, tomato paste, and a small amount of bell pepper. When I tried to address my concerns with the manager, they were rude and dismissed my complaints as hearsay. They then added more vegetables to the pizza, but they were covered in butter and looked unappetizing. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Overall, it was a gross experience. What a gorgeous country pub. Looked so inviting as we drove passed heading up to Bendigo in the morning that we decided to make it our lunch stop on the way back home. The friendliness of the staff was great. Very much appreciated the food choices the portion sizes. So refreshing to see a choice of full size or small size meals. I hate leaving food on the plate but can no longer eat a “ full size” meal. Thanks for a good, friendly lunch stop. We’ll be back again.

My partner and I have been to the tavern a few times, to listen to music during the blues festival, to have have brilliant afternoon scones, and for a cold beer when passing. yesterday we decided to go and have the 2 course roast for lunch, I must say very yummy and a low price. as always the staff were very friendly and service great. would recommend this great old pub to everyone.

Went to the pub last night for dinner for my birthday. The staff were all great, really friendly and couldn't do more for us. The food was fantastic, everyone's food came out quick and hot. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner will definitely be back!
