Cake By the Lake is a GEM in the Temple/Belton/Morgan's Point Community.The owner served me on my first trip there. She was helpful and kind. She told me how this shop had been her dream for years. Each cake is baked from scratch, and as someone who has baked several cakes from scratch for funsies, you can tell.Now I've been there more often than I would care to admit. I've tried every cake except the carrot and chocolate (I just got the chocolate for my husband to try today). All of them have been exquisite.I'm planning on getting my kid's teacher's Christmas giftcards from here, which I'm sure will be loved.I could go on and on, but if you are still reading this, GO GET YOURSELF SOME CAKE!

I needed decorated cookies for a baby shower and cakes at the lake came through for me! the cookies were so enchanting and they were also delicious. we didn't have to worry about left because they all went to the end of the party. many thanks that they help to make our celebration wonderful!

I was here last time, I was really impressed with the choice and was happy to try some things. I have a piece of confetti, red velvet and almond wedding cake. I didn't like the confetti at all. the red velvet was good. the almond wedding cake I really like, but not. I think it cost about $5.95 a disk that's not bad to me. they also have cake. I just don't know if I'll try it again. I just miss a bakery like this place where you can get a piece of everything.

I ordered birthday cakes with earthy filling and was said to be about $39.00 the order and decoration idea was nothing I thought. the cake really tasted, really dry or old. the filling was pink, but no evidence for earthy. the flower decoration was artificial flowers on the cake! I have never ordered a cake with flowers that were not created by bakers and edible. also article blossoms! I was on $50.00 I would not recommend to go there for special occasions cake.
