Taqueria El Metate - Belmont

Really great shrimp Burrito with huge pieces of well-flavoured shrimp! Order in front and bring the food to your table. I also got the Aroz con pollo, which was also very tasty, but the shrimp Burrito was definitely better imo. A non-frill type of space and there were parking spaces on the main road and the side of the building. There were a few salsa and topping options with both mild and very spicy options. Many people made takeout, but they have seats inside and outside on the front. But some people do not smoke too far outside, so if you are more sensitive or have asthma, it was not so pleasant.

Move over El Grullense, El Metate is my new favoritetaqueria! They have the full self-service chips and salsa bar along with the spicy jalapenos and freshly cut radishes. The Tacos are much bigger and tastier and the super Burrito is un Gordo! Much seat and attention. You even have a few bottle beers.

The food is great! The menu authentic, and the facilities clean and well visited. If you're going to eat here, you're hungry! Portions are generous and prices are good. #TheBrokerWithAHeart

Solid spot a friend recommended. A good mix of sit down restaurant and hole in the wall taqueria. I tried the aguas Fresca de Piña and it was spot on. We also had numerous tacos de asada and one of carnitas which was quite tasty as well.
