The coating was not overwhelming. It was light and crispy, not oily. The servers are friendly and accommodating.
I love this place! The service is always stellar! The food is super fresh and you will not leave hungry.
Did a to go order using the menu on the website. Tried to order a pound of 2 different fish as per the menu (not the dinner option) waitress insisted that this was not an option and that the owner hadnt updated the website or online menu in years. After I got off the phone I double checked the website which had been renewed for 2024 and the menus pdf was entitled “menumarch2024” or something like that. The waitress also sent us home with an “updated” menu which had the 1lb of fish without sides option listed. Waitresses need better training.Catfish seemed okay, Walleye was extra fishy. Everything was super under seasoned. Coleslaw wasnt bad, greenbeans are obviously canned without anything added to them (aside from a very questionable piece of potato) fries were excellent though. We were hoping to find a good fish place close to home so we didnt have to make the 40 minute drove to Kelleys in Blair but it seems the drive is definitely worth it.
The food was gross. I had a Reuben sandwich, and the meat was chopped up and had lots of fat in it. It also had a lot of sauce in the sandwich, so you couldn’t eat with your hands. The service was horrible. It was obvious they were short handed. We ordered 2 sandwiches, and 2 cokes, and the the bill with the 15% top was a little over $40.
The food was pretty good (ckn fried ckn) me, but my husband's walleye was undercooked and looked so. The staff is nice and friendly and the prices are reasonable.
