Côtes-à-côtes

The place was nice inside and outside. During the burger week in Quebec city, at their suggestion I odered ‘burger Pêle-Mêle’ and beer Côte à Côte which was a perfect match and I really liked it.The most important point was their service. Alexandre who was responsible for taking our orders. He knew the balance between checking the table and customer comfort. He was so polite, calm, friendly and very professional.

For our main course, my son and I opted for the salmon, which was excellent—fresh and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were nicely presented, but unfortunately, they lacked flavor. We were a bit let down that our mashed potatoes were substituted with potato gratin without any prior notice. My husband ordered the steak but was never asked how he wanted it cooked. By the time he realized this, it was too late, and unfortunately, his steak came out very well done. He was disappointed, as he felt he should have been consulted about his preference. We were also quite dissatisfied with the service. As we finished our desserts, the staff brought coffee. When my husband requested sugar and cream (none were on the table), the staff responded with noticeable annoyance and walked away without offering coffee to the rest of us. Eventually, my husband had to get up and ask another staff member. When they finally brought the sugar and cream, I asked for coffee as well, but my request was simply ignored, and no one came back to check on us. While I'm hesitant to label the staff's attitude as racist, it definitely left us feeling unwelcome. Overall, our experience was disappointing, particularly regarding the service.

My husband requested sugar and cream, as there were none on the table, but the staff seemed annoyed by his request and walked away without returning. The rest of us were not offered coffee either. Eventually, my husband had to approach another staff member to get the sugar and cream. When I asked for some coffee, my request was completely ignored. No one came back to check on us. Although I'm not sure if the staff's attitude stemmed from racial bias, it did make us feel uncomfortable. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience.

On a bus tour with 44 people, had a choice of salmon or chicken with wild mushroom gravy, excellent sweet potato mash and great veggies. Great dessert of pastry.
