La 23 Bbq - Belle Chasse

This place is unassuming...until you pull up and smell what's cooking. If you don't eat pork make sure you say no pork. They put it on everything.The staff is nice and they are frequented by all kinds of people. I'm not a fan of their sweet tea but the food is excellent. The menu is very basic and I love that.They only have outdoor dining but it's covered. I like that they have tacos and omlettes in the morning. Yes... they open early in the morning and close early as well.If you want food that tastes homemade like it was prepared at the cookout, this is the place. When I think of southern food, LA 23 is the place to be!

This food is so satisfying! My first time here and I will definitely be a repeat customer. There enough room for a semi to park for us truckers and the food is so worth the time to stop.

I am from Texas and was kinda weirded out by how black the Brisket is. However I have eaten Brisket my entire life at a whole lot of cook-offs even Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo. This place has the best Brisket hands down. Nicely done.

We don't have many REAL BBQ joints around so this is the best spot. But compared to others in nearby states this is still much better and you get your worth. Been a few times, had the pulled pork, brisket and ½ chicken... All excellent!

Pulled pork was excellent. Mustard sauce was awesome too!
