Charoles Hamburguesa - Bellaire

I had a tough time today at the restaurant. The BBQ sauce wasn't great, and the prices are high—$9.74 for just one fourth of brisket, no sides included, along with a large iced tea. I won’t be returning.

The Angus burger we ordered had a decent patty with good flavor, but the vegetables were old and wilted, as if they had been sitting out in the open all day. The worst part was the bun, which was clearly stale. This resulted in a bottom half that was so dry it was nearly inedible. Fresh vegetables and a soft, fluffy bun are essential for a great burger, and this one missed the mark. Strike two. Finally, the sausage po' boy basket arrived without the fries, which we were particularly looking forward to since we love homemade fries. This was just the beginning of our disappointment. Not only were the fries missing, but the po' boy itself was unimpressive—served on a plain, unexciting bun with a few pale slices thrown inside. Whoever put that together should be ashamed. Strike three. In general, we try to give a new place at least two chances because we understand that anyone can have an off day. However, there was very little about this experience that would encourage us to try Charlie's again. It ultimately felt like too many strikes on our first visit.

I had a frustrating experience! My takeout bag had a tear in it, and I ended up spilling my lunch all over the parking lot. I ordered one sandwich and two sides, and they couldn't even be bothered to put it in a plastic bag that was right at the register. It's really disappointing. They’ve definitely lost me as a customer.

Very clean, cut brisket basket was excellent, fries were crisp sandwich was excellent. the price was a bit high, but with bids and friends the prices now tag what they expect.

Great bake potatoes with sliced beef! Burgers are good too! Their fries are even better!
