Goon menu waitress owner partner is American Good lunch time menu with good service for the four in our party
We were looking for a place midway between the Pay Basque region of France and Bordeaux. Belin-Beliet fit the bill and Chocho had good reviews. The reviews were correct, this is a good place to relax and eat. We arrived at noon and were the first to be seated. Before we were done with our meal every table had people. So don't arrive late. The food was interesting and tasted great. My wife had sword fish, pureed carrots (with some cumin? , and perfumed rice. Lovely. It had been weeks since we had run into a native English speaker, so that was a real treat too. Going north or south on the A63 between Bordeaux and Pay Basque it is an easy on and off. Parking is available on the street and in a nearby lot.
We were cycling from Bazas to Mios (and then to Arcachon) and stopped at L'Atelier de Choco for lunch after reading other Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed! Our good experience began with our greeting at the door. The delightful woman who met us was very welcoming and arranged for safe storage of our bikes. Upon hearing our struggling French, she switched into perfect English. Not surprising since she is American. Our lunch was delicious and my need to avoid cream was well handled at dessert by the wonderful sorbets. My husband's need for all things chocolate was more than satisfied by an intense chocolate dessert. Lunch was served in a lovely covered patio, which was very relaxing and readied us for the remainder of our bike ride. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this delightful little restaurant.
