Sawers Belfast

A trip to Belfast city center isn't complete without stopping by Sawers. We've been occasional shoppers at this specialty gourmet food store over the years, and recently decided to try out their outdoor seating for lunch. The seafood platter we ordered was absolutely amazing and a fantastic value compared to other options in the city. We highly recommend it!

This restaurant is a hidden gem for cheese lovers and food enthusiasts. They offer delicious sandwiches and a wide variety of freshly baked cakes and treats. You can enjoy your meal at the outdoor tables or take it to go. The sandwiches are filled with fresh ingredients and are incredibly flavorful. Overall, it's an authentic dining experience with a welcoming and friendly staff.

Our table was charged extra for a sandwich using flatbread instead of the ciabatta bread listed on the menu. When we questioned this, we were told in a condescending manner that flatbread is more expensive. It seems that regular customers are expected to assume that extra charges mean they have run out of the cheaper bread option. While dining, we observed other tables experiencing similar issues. We would have been willing to pay the extra cost if the staff had simply communicated the bread shortage and the resulting price difference to us. Eventually, we were refunded in cash, but no apology or acknowledgement of their error was given. The man handling our complaint dismissed our concerns with a dismissive attitude. This behavior was rude and unacceptable. Taking advantage of customers in this way is dishonest and unethical. Despite the polite and professional service from younger staff members and the quality of the food, we will not be returning to or recommending this restaurant due to the behavior of the older staff members on duty that day.

This restaurant is a gorgeous establishment with a wide variety of interesting dishes. We visited to purchase a gift and left with six or seven different items including delicious pasta, local jams, tasty sweets, and more. The selection of charcuterie was particularly impressive. We look forward to calling again soon.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. The quality of the food was exceptional and the prices were very reasonable. You must definitely try the Belfast alligator ciabatta, it is huge and delicious.
