Phoenix Chinese - Beal an mhuirthead

My wife and I enjoyed our meal but we thought that it was a bit expensive for what it was. We ordered two starters, two main courses (both chicken dishes), two small bottles of beer and one extra portion of boiled rice. The total bill was just over 69 Euros.

We went there as all restaurants around were full and booked out. The staff was very friendly. Overall nice place with good atmosphere, the choice of food was okay but prices are shocking.

Second time here in 2 weeks .King Prawn with cashew nuts with rice and chips were tasty and I look forward to my trip here every Thursday. Highly Recommended.

Phoned in a takeaway order and was told food would be ready in 15mins. Arrived 15mins later to a very abrupt dark haired member of staff who asked the name of order then told me to wait while she walked out from behind counter and greeted a friend that arrived after me and chatted for 5 mins with him while I was left shocked and waiting for my order. When she finally looked for order, amongst some foil language, she informed me that there was no trace of my order. Ava had taken my phone order and hadn 't bothered to input it into system. I was now 15 mins stood waiting while both girls looked at clueless. A waitress Stacey arrived and apologised for the mistake, asked me to repeat my order and then input it into system and sent Ava to tell kitchen to rush order through. Was changed full price for an order that was absolute rubbish. Have had numerous issues with this takeaway ie. Orders being incorrect but this was most definitely the last straw! Staff need major educating with regards customer service and Stacey needs to lead the team and she acted quickly tk rectify issue, if it was left to the others I 'd still be standing there waiting for my order. Won 't be returning! Would rather make the hour and 40min round trip to Ballina for a good quality take away with good service!!

Dined on a Tuesday evening so restaurant was quiet i.e. we were the only ones there. Carryout business seemed to be doing well. Comfortable seating in a pleasantly decorated room; friendly service. Food good but the portions could have been bigger especially as it was priced at the higher end of the scale. Worth a shout if you are staying in town and want to have a chinese .
