I've found the service has declined a little and the food just didn't have the same flavour and zest it used to. It is a very popular venue and well known by all the locals but feel due to their popularity some of the customer service and professionalism has dropped off. Definitely an enjoyable meal but nothing outstanding or over the top.
The entre coconut prawns was not seasoned however the mango sauce made the dish work well. The mixed entrees was a good choice as you could try a bit of most things on the appetisers. For mains we had Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns Chicken stir fry with vegetables cashew nuts chillie jam which seem to be missing. Overall food was ok cathered more for australian pallete. A bit pricy but servings are a good size if you are a big eater. Ambience was ok till the restaurant filled up seem to echo and could not have a conservation as you would have to shout.
Food was good, especially the prawns and duck. Tom yum was tasty. Service was ok. Friendly but amateurish eg. Wine was not uncorked and food was just dumped.
I've been coming to Chilli'n'Chive for years now and have never left disappointed. The quality of the food, the friendly and efficient service and the proximity to where we live brings us back at least every other month. My wife quite often has the Pad Pak with Tofu and I love the Seafood Laksa. Their curries are great too and the coconut prawns are great appetizers. I took my Thai colleague there a few times and he likes the food very much as well, so much for the claim of other reviewers that it is not authentic. My wife and I love Chilli'n'Chive. We'll be back there tomorrow with friends!
As we live local in Berwick this was convenient for us and good value for money. We had the coconut prawns to share for entree which were nice with the mango dipping sauce. For main we ordered two seperate dishes which were the fried rice with beef chosen as the meat and we both enjoyed it thouroughly. The second dish was Pad Krapow which was very well cooked and not for the faint hearted heat wise but not unbearable.. We enjoyed our meal and service was good. Worth a visit and good if you don't want to spend a lot but want good fresh tasty meals.
