Ketch Restaurant and Bar - BEACH HAVEN

Had a beer thrown on me from the upper level. Went up and reported it to the bartender upstairs and called out the guys who did it. Head of security immediately kicked me out. He refused to believe me despite the beer on my shirt and face and eyewitnesses. Bouncer then came out as I tried to explain what happened to the head of security. This same bouncer I recognized as the guy who assaulted the manager (knocked him out) at a bar in Barnegat Light the previous summer. I've been to the catch maybe 6 times and on every one of those occasions I've either experienced being assaulted myself or witnessed it happening to others including females. I have never once seen their security confront the perpetrators. If this happens to you be sure to ask for the $20 cover charge back. Then file a police report so this you have the incident on record.

I don't usually post reviews, but when I get taken like this, I like to warn others. This place is a tourist trap with nice views. The mgmt is clearly trying to squeeze every . Highly overpriced menu items, extremely small portions, and mediocre food at best. I ordered a 35 Scallop dinner, got 4 tiny scallops, some tasteless risotto and string beans. My 3 iced tea was served in a disposable plastic cup a dentist would give you to rinse your mouth. Dinner for 2 with tip was 100, no alcohol. Never again beware...

Busy place that works out best with reservations. On Labor Day weekend there was a 2.5 hours wait at 6 pm. However they sat us down as soon as they had a cancellation. We ordered different kinds of seafood and they were fresh and well prepared.

Love the location, views from the upper deck are awesome: service was very fast (maybe too fast? Oysters were bland (as if soaking under melted ice too long . Overall it?s a great place for drinks but don?t expect world class dining.

Our food tasted worse than the worst catered wedding food I?ve ever received. Charged $8 for five frozen mozzarella sticks. We came with a group of 9 and they claimed they ?couldn?t? split the check for us, even though we were a group of mostly couples, so we had to split it up at the end and write our totals out for the server on a piece of paper. When we walked in the hostess had a nasty look on her face from the start and she told us she could only seat us inside though there were multiple tables open on the patio, and they never filled up over the course of our terrible dinner. Will never return.
