Humble Pie Butter Tart Factory Pizzeria

They were out of butter tarts! At 1:30 on a weekday. We got cookies instead. Extremely overpriced. Their butter tarts are tasty…when they have them. I bought 8 cookies, 6 custard tart things and 6 cheese biscuits. $57!!! Not worth it.

Out of butter tarts in the middle of the day on a weekday. They say they’re a butter tart factory. We had to buy something as we were taking them to a friends house and didn’t want to show up empty handed. Bought some cookies $13 for 4 cookies) and custard tarts $18 for 6). Very overpriced and underwhelming. Will not return.

Considering the name of this place, we had high but simple expectations for a great butter tart. Signage everywhere asks for patience with their understaffing issues. No problem. The wait was quite short. It turns out that the Butter Tart Factory is a pizza cafe/ bakery-dessert hybrid. Odd, but who cares if the butter tarts are amazing? The baked item cases showed a few breads and pies, but the butter tart case was low on stock. Could be a good sign, right? After pondering how to order pizza (sort of inside the same space and sort of separate? we ordered one butter tart and hit the road. The tart tasted perfectly fine, with flaky crust, but the pastry to filling ratio is very disappointing for any butter tart lover. See photo. In our experience, this wasn't worth the stop.

What an amazing local shop. I stopped by and grabbed lunch, plus beautiful meat Pies to take home. Pizza, butter tarts, Pies, and more. I truly love these local hot spots. ?

Great pizza ... yummy cheese bread and sticky buns finished the order.
