The Fish Store - Bayport

My sister was visiting from Colorado and wanted a real fish meal and raw oysters on the half shell and having been a customer of The Fish Store for many years and having dined there I thought of them right away. The oysters were very fresh but we had to ask for horseradish in addition to the seafood sauce. They were very accommodating as my sister wanted mahi mahi substituted for swordfish in the mango salsa dish which she enjoyed. My pepper crusted tuna was just seared enough for me as I like it on the rare side with smooth mashed potatoes and tasty creamed spinach. The presentation was gorgeous with the tuna sliced and fanned across the plate from the cloud like mashed potatoes and little rosettes of wasabi dotting either edge on the plate. It looked almost to good too eat and was delicious. Wish I could post a picture! Our server Vanessa was very nice and good. The food far exceeded what one would expect from a fish market so if you are looking for good food and aren't a snob about the run of the mill dishware and a view of the parking lot and street this is the place for you. Definitely would recommend them.

This restaurant serves the best lobster tails in town! They also offer sushi-grade fresh fish and more. That's why I'm giving it a 5-star rating.

I really love this place. Small and quaint. No yelling to be heard like in a big chain restaurant. They were very happy to make me a fish cake appetizer because I cannot have shellfish. Everything I have ever ordered there has been fantastic. Get there early or be prepared to wait for a table but you won 't be disappointed its worth it.

Everything was absolutely delicious! Will never go anywhere else for my seafood catering needs.
