Cafe Rix is a standard grab-and-go spot at Coronado and not a dine-in restaurant. Therefore, do not expect servers, salmon, burgers, or beer at Cafe Rix. The coffee at Cafe Rix is not the best and is often similar to what you would find at other resorts (unless they are using Joffrey's coffee, which is specified). However, the prices at Cafe Rix are higher. For example, a latte at Cafe Rix is $5.39, whereas it is $3.99 at Capt. Cook's at the Polynesian resort. Additionally, the grab-and-go food at Cafe Rix is also more expensive compared to other locations on the property. While Cafe Rix may be convenient for a quick fix, it is not unique or exceptionally delicious, making the higher prices unjustifiable. It seems that Cafe Rix may be taking advantage of convention guests who are in need of a quick meal before heading into conferences. It may be better to visit El Mercado, the food court, for a quick bite where you will get more and better food for the same amount of money.
The service at this restaurant was awful. We waited for hours for our food and our drinks still haven't arrived. The group at the other table seemed to have better service, so maybe it was just our table that had a bad experience.
