Despite its newly founded rest as a television bakery cook and all the general wax poetry about its cakes, I found this pasticceria very common. many years ago I went here before renato became a home name and although the coffee is good, the bakers are nothing special and the cakes are overpriced, very sugary and quite tasteless. probably the magic touch is only delivered by renato himself and when I visited, he was not there, so perhaps that explains the lack of pizzazz. I don't doubt his talent. I'm sure he's a very gifted cake maker. but there are many (I say it..even more) gifted baked chefs in southern Italy and I just wonder if this place would have been so popular if it remained the gran caffé without le torte di renato.
During our recent visit to Italy we drove several hours from the amalfi coast to visit this charming caffe in battapaglia and meet the master chef himself. we had ordered a custom cake for a birthday party, and while we waited for the completion...touches to be completed, we had the great honor to meet renato himself and watch him as he performs his magic on our cake! it was like a dream as if we watched his celebrated TV show: every Tuesday at 21:10, on real time, free digital tw channel 31, sky channel 124 and 125 in hd, channel 31 TivùSat. we pampered ourselves in fresh pastries, literally melted in our mouth, as our cake was lovingly placed in the container for the transport. if they are close to battipaglia, visit them absolutely renato!
Raffinerie and elegance. so I can define the best gran Caffe-Le torte di renato the place is charming and the atmosphere is warm. the pastries and cakes are not only beautiful, but they are absolutely delicious and all these masterpieces by renato ardovino, these exquisite pieces. the art that surrounds them, only take them away their breath. the staff is very friendly and nice. I highly recommend this place.
