Thaihey Thaifood - Baton Rouge

I love this place! The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite dishes on their vegan menu are the Koi Soy Tofu and the Fried Tofu with Lotus Root.

Thaihey was previously located in White Star Market, but has since moved to a new location on Lee Drive. The new location offers a convenient drive-through window and home delivery service. The current menu is small, but focuses on offering high-quality dishes rather than a large variety of mediocre options. Vegan options are clearly marked, and the ones we tried were delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Khao Soi Tofu (yellow curry soup with sweet potato noodles) and the Pumpkin Curry (also with tofu). We requested Thai spicy level of heat in our online order, and Thaihey delivered exactly what we wanted. The Khao Soi Tofu soup has a rich coconut milk base with purple sweet potato noodles. The noodles and garnishes are packed separately for takeout, allowing you to add the soup right before eating at home. The Pumpkin Curry is a classic red curry with coconut milk. Despite our initial concerns about it being too sweet with pumpkin, the dish was perfectly balanced. The large pieces of squash in the curry add a unique touch. In terms of red curry quality, Thaihey's version stands out as one of the best in Baton Rouge. As former California residents, we can confidently say that Thaihey is on par with West Coast Thai restaurants and is the only Thai spot in Baton Rouge that doesn't overpower dishes with fish sauce. We look forward to exploring more of their vegan options in the future!

Very cool vibe to this small Thai restaurant. Amazing staff and even more amazing food. Everything from the floor layout to the dish presentations was well thought out. I got the fried tofu and lotus root small plate and the Khao Soi vegan entree. The fried tofu and lotus root was fried to perfection and that Thai spice was fantastic. I wish they bottled that up and sold it. 10/10 will order again! The Khao Soi curry was mind blowingly delicious. It was heavenly. Expertly seasoned, perfectly balanced textures and richness. Absolutely everything you want a curry to be. By far the best Thai I've ever had. I'd fly to NOLA specifically for this!! 12/10. Everything about this place was incredible and was firing on all cylinders.

We ordered the tofu satay, khao soi tofu, kraprow vegan, and dragonfruit sorbet at this restaurant. Every dish was bursting with flavor and the staff was friendly, offering great recommendations. Luckily, we were able to snag a table without a reservation, but I would suggest making one in advance.
