La Madeleine - Baton Rouge

For those unfamiliar, La Madeleine is a French-inspired café and bakery known for serving a variety of delicious pastries, soups, salads, and entrees. Their menu often features comforting, classic dishes that evoke a sense of homey French cuisine. Overall, it’s a delightful spot for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of France in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

I ordered cheese shreds for my soup samples (potato, tomato basil, and French onion) that were provided in a small bag, and they appeared to have some mold on them. I noticed this after finishing my salad and one of the soups. Unfortunately, I couldn't see it earlier and didn't want to bring it up with the staff since it was a slow evening for them, and I didn't want to be bothersome.

The worst dining experience I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. The service was poor, and the food was terrible. I definitely do not recommend eating here.

Breathe the atmosphere, but eating is bland, and somewhat overpriced and the service is slow and can be a bit rude.

We couldn't be served mimosas because no one had a liquor license on staff that day. The lady behind me was told that they couldn't serve pasta because they didn't have pasta that day. The restaurant was generally unclean and the employees looked stressed out. It wasn't busy because zero tables were seated. There was a line of seven people by the time we left. I can't speak to the quality of the food because we left.
