Doe's Eat Place - Baton Rouge

Always enjoy Doe’s and our favorite waitress is Mary!

We love steak, and have eaten many different ways around the world. For years we heard nothing less than how great the steaks were at Doe’s. Since we live out of town, we hadn’t the opportunity to visit, until we were able to book a reservation last night for our 12th anniversary. Our table was perfectly tucked away in a romantic little corner. Waiter was taking care of a loud party of 8 next to us so he took some time to attend to us through the night, but not a big deal. My spouse and I both wanted ribeye so we ordered a 2 pound to share. Cooked Medium-Rare of course. A simple bowl of lettuce sprinkled with lemon juice arrived as our sensation salads. Steak presentation was beautiful. However, I had to using my knife like a saw to try to cut each piece off and my wife nearly broke the plate trying to cut her pieces. After attempting about 4 pieces, my wife tired out from chewing and gave up. Her jaw was done, and that included my kisses for the night. She did enjoy the biscuits though, and I did enjoy the ribeye’s juices, but we won’t be back to spend high dollar on poor quality steak. Huge bummer.

My Wife and I eat here often even though it is a 25 mile drive but worth the drive. We always have Mary as our server and she takes excellent care of us. In fact she just ask me the usual for a cocktail and she knows to bring my Martini fixed just like I like. The steaks are great. I do not know of any other restaurant in Baton Rouge that has better steaks. If you start your meal with some of their wonderful tamales you will not regret it. We always enjoy the food, drinks and service at Doe 's.

Incredible experience as always. I chose Doe’s to bring an out of town client to dinner and they did not disappoint. Amazing drinks (best Old Fashion in town), apps, and steaks.
