After I lived in China and sprinkled on the delicious local cuisine out there, I have a loss to find a Chinese restaurant in Great Britain that even come close to my taste buds the art and wise to gloomy how to eat in his home country...has until we stumble over tasty restaurant/baylor house! the chef is from the same opposite, in which we lived there and was very friendly and accommodating. portion sizes were perfect and I didn't taste a better malaxiangguo (spicy mixed broth/soup very recommend) anywhere else. traditional decor makes this place even better, plus Asian beer, although the weinlist is not great. this is one of the best hidden gems I ever come to visit over must!
My wife and I have just returned from a weekend trip in bath. we stumbled over the delicious Chinese restaurant. don't let them get away from the optics of the restaurant, how the food was excellent! we went for everything they can eat. The foods were served hot and tasty! there was a good choice and the portion sizes were also very good!
The first time there, eating was excellent, customer service very good, really nice layout in general will be definitiw again with girlfriend.
Me and my mother entered the restaurant by chance at which point we were stared at by all the servers who's home clothes that they all wore all had stains on them. we were then shown to a table by a rather grumpy member of...staff when we were seated the table was grubby and wobbled, the table was also accompanied by a huge cobweb sat next to me (how very pleasant). we were one of three tables occupied in the restaurant, we thought we were in luck...how wrong we were. despite being nearly empty it took the staff minutes to notice we existed to take our drinks order! once our drink order was brought to us I was given a warm beer! (absolutely gross). on top of all of this it took over forty five minutes for our starters to come out which were actually quite nice. then our mains came.... absolutely gross the food was clearly microwaved as it was stone cold in places. no one came up to see how we were and the taste was enough to send me to the bathroom. after all of this we were given a hand written receipt in Chinese. which for two starters a main a coke and a beer came to the total of I couldn't recommend this place to my enemies and even as I am writing this review my stomach isn't agreeing with the food more than hours later! the staff have little to no customer training or manners the staff clearly don't have hygiene qualifications or if they do it should be revoked and the kitchen clearly can't deal with tables imagine the time it would have taken if they were full!!!! although i doubt a restaurant like this would ever be full!
