Thai Village - Batavia

I recently tried this restaurant for the first time. We ordered lard na and opted to pay extra for beef, but we only found six very thin pieces of beef in the dish, each about the size of a dime. The noodles were either falling apart or extremely hard and crispy. I don't order this dish often, but I assume the noodles should have a consistent texture. In my previous experiences at other places, this dish has been flavorful and enjoyable, but the version I received was bland and tasteless. We also ordered the appetizer combo, which was decent; honestly, that was basically all I ended up eating.

I might have visited on an off night. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant after seeing all the positive reviews. I ordered the Basil Chicken, expecting ground chicken, but oddly enough, it wasn't. However, the Basil Chicken itself was quite tasty, probably around a 4 out of 5. My husband ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, and unfortunately, he couldn't eat it at all. We usually order Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant we visit, but this time the tofu tasted like it had been fried earlier in the day and then just reheated. It was inedible—chewy and spongy. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I really wish the food had lived up to the expectations.

Thai Village Restaurant has a charming atmosphere that welcomes you as soon as you arrive. The friendly staff greet you warmly, and the soothing background music adds to the serene ambiance. I enjoyed a delightful lunch date with my wife, and the food was exceptional. We started with the cucumber salad, which was a perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and crunchy flavors that awakened our taste buds. We also sampled the veggie spring rolls, which were both fresh and satisfying. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with fantastic recommendations, so if you decide to dine here, be sure to ask for her. If you feel inclined and are able to, I'm sure she would greatly appreciate a generous tip for her excellent service.

Great food. Friendly staff. Quick service. They told me 20-25 minutes over the phone. I was there in 5, 6 minutes later I was walking out with some of the best Thai food I ever had.
