Antica Ostaria - BASSANO DEL GRAPPA

The food was very ordinary, I had the local venetian liver and my husband had chicken, neither of which were very good, Good selection of wines. The restaurant is clearly very popular and there wasn't a free table by 8:30 and it is a big place so perhaps we were just unlucky.

We stopped for an aperitivo after seeing the activity outside the bar. No tables, just three barrels to put your drink on. Food offered was minimal, some fried mozzarella balls, small panini and the like. Didn't look too appetizing. Prosecco was fine. I ordered a glass of Valpolicello, and got the dregs of an open bottle. Oxidized and not very good. On top of that it was a short pour and he left about a 1/2 inch in the bottle and recorked it. We will not be going back.
