Had an excellent day in the chequers, friendly great fever in the tent, music and staff all very helpful. thanks to the girls on the gin skirt help me choose the different, most pleasant thanks.

Wow, what a great pub, great personal good crowd we love. the madhouse jam session at the end of the month is great fun and bands djs.its got rid of it. well made cathy crew

Wrote a 5 star review over a year ago so thought it would be a good idea to do another one! The reason is that this pub just gets better and better. Always busy but the manager always ensures there a good number of staff serving so no matter how busy you do not have to wait very long at all; normally straight away. Not only that, every member of staff is so friendly. Always smiling and if something is not right (which is rare) they sort it out straight away. They really are a credit to the manager. I understand the food is excellent as well. Fantastic music nights and this pub really is a “ community” pub. One of my friends travels from Danbury as he loves the pub so much. The clientele are also very friendly and if they weren’t then Cath the manager would soon sort it out! She does a lot for charity as well. A mix of ages also helps the atmosphere, 25 to over 70, I am in the latter! So thanks and keep it going!
