I had previously seen a lunch menu offer on the website however we didn’t receive this menu from our waitress, We had to ask for it. This felt dishonest of them and didn’t get our visit off to the best start. We ordered our food and drinks, The wait for food was very long nearly an hour even though we visited during a quiet part of the day (12pm) there was three other tables. The food was shocking, almost inedible . We ordered cheeseburgers and we received two dry overcooked burgers with a small portion of warm chips. They had a slice of cheese and half a pickle in each, It was definitely not ‘dripping’ with cheese which it stated on the menu. We did not get offered any sauces etc, we could not find the waitress. Overall we felt like we was ignored during our visit. We had ordered the refillable Coke Zero and we did not even get one refill on these. We could not find or get the waitress attention. We felt as because we had ordered from the cheaper lunch menu their focus was drawn to the other tables. We ate our food but only due to the fact we had cinema booked. We needed to eat before watching a long film and after the long wait we had no choice. If I did not have cinema booked, I would have walked away after one bite. TGI Friday used to be the place to go. Birthdays, Work meals and family dinners. I have been a frequent visitor over the last ten years. However recently the prices have increased and the quality had plummeted. I would likely not return in the near future. Really big shame.
To celebrate “Father’s Day” at Basildon store. Lucky we were 1/2hr early and hardly anyone in there, seated straight away. Allowed us to move as air con was freezing, a small confusion over the drinks sorted and order taken promptly. However, I explained we were fussy eaters and apologised, server seemed happy and left. Starters came out nice, hot and fresh. However, the portion size was a bit meagre for the price. Went totally down hill from there really. Over cooked burger steak, garlic bread was just wrong, chips covered in pepper and it didn’t actually state what was in the house salads. They couldn’t even get “no ice” in the water correct. Dessert was ok, but when my daughter asked about the pancakes “that’s the American TGIs”. Tea, great with lots of extra milk and sugar. Was waiting ages for the server return to pay. I did tip only for her service and not the disgusting food.
Went on a very busy Good Friday. Young lady serving did a great job looking after us. All the food ordered from the ribs to burgers and a pasta meal got eaten. Expect to spend a lot of money but worth a bit extra.
The food was terrible, overcooked like burn offerings, and the spicy chicken thighs were disgusting we couldn’t eat them
Excellent service and delicious food from team especially Conor he was creative with the kids order as it was an 8 year old birthday party.
