In our opinion, Mattie's is just the best fish and chip shop in Barrow. Delicious freshly battered and they are always generous portions... served with a smile

They’re my favourite chippy by a mile. Chips are always served warm and fresh and extremely delicious!!!

Great channelside walk, however lacking maintenance as usual overflowing litter bins being redistributed by seagulls.

Highly recommended, with very friendly staff and delicious fish at competitive prices. The portions are generous, and they don't skimp on the chips either. I give it a 100% rating.

The owners of this restaurant are wonderful and very friendly. However, the prices are quite high. I would visit more often if the prices were lower. The fish and chips here are more of a luxury than an affordable takeaway. You can find the same quality elsewhere for £4 for fish and £2 for chips.
