The Penalty Box - Barrie

Since its new management, the food is AMAZING. You need to try the deep fried ice cream and the waffle sandwich! I love it! You much go!

We have had wings at other restaurants in Barrie (including Buffalo Wild Wings and the Pie - both of which have the smallest wings in Canada, thus never going back to these places) - and the Penalty Box wings are the best in Barrie. This restaurant is under new management and are doing a terrific job!

The washrooms are fixed up and George has been busy painting. There is a big score clock above the bar. Most important is the cold schooner of beer and the hot wings have not changed. The Colts & Frontenacs gave us a good hockey game. Nelson came over and he introduced himself and we met the partner George.

My husband and I had dinner here last Saturday night. We both had chicken wings, beer, wine. The wings are huge and decadently delicious ... best wings I've had in Barrie, and thank god they are unbreaded, the best way. And the prices are very reasonable. They have specials every day of the week, so something for everyone. We'll be back for sure!

We have been there twice. The first time we found that the wings are tasty, meaty and affordable, but the service was slow. The last time we were there we sat for 15 minutes and no one came to serve us. It was not that busy. The servers were more interested in taking care of the patio. We left.
