We get Chinese food from Asian One typically once a month and always enjoy it. Great selection of dishes. The staff are all friendly and the food is always served very quickly. Not overly greasy like some other places in Barrie.
I had the chicken and shrimp spring roll, not sure what meat it was, I only tasted the grease. Hot and sour soup was edible, ok. Broccoli and beef had Noooo flavour, again the meat seemed iffy, but at least the broccoli wasn't over cooked. Biggggest disappointment was the supposed chicken pad Thai :-( not sure if the small pieces dyed orange were chicken, a few stray bean sprouts and a huge portion of orange dyed, tasteless, DRY, bland noodles. For the first time in my life probably, I threw food away! The very generous portion got dumped. I would say it's CHEAP and maybe I'm spoiled because I live in Markham but I wouldn't feed that to my dog nor would I eat it for free. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
There are only three Chinese food restaurant in Barrie that I find quite good and Asian One is one of them!Their quality is always super fresh and we always get it piping hot! And a rare thing, it actually reheats well the next day, even their chicken balls (likely because their done in a thin batter and not a super thick, bready one).
We have been going here since they opened and never had a bad meal We usually order 2 combo dinners and split for three adults. We like the chicken balls as they are the smaller ones and not a crazy amount of batter on them. They are always generous with their sauces as well no need to order extra. The service is so fast often we order, then just drive over to pick up and it's ready within the 10 minute drive. Well worth it at a fraction of the price of the bigger Chinese restaurants.
