Ladder 1 Grill - Barre

In my opinion, the atmosphere is the highlight of this restaurant. They've done an excellent job incorporating many old firefighter memorabilia, and it's especially well-decorated during Halloween and Christmas. As for the food, it's a mixed bag; some dishes are very good, while others aren't as impressive. However, there is a wide variety of options available, and the wait staff is generally quite attentive. If the restaurant is busy, parking behind can be chaotic, but there's usually street parking available near the church, which isn't a bad alternative if you don't mind a short walk.

Delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful decor in this historic firehouse! It's a fantastic spot to gather with friends for a meal or snacks. They've done an amazing job showcasing both past and present fire department memorabilia, including shirts and badges. We're traveling across the country and only have one day here, but if we lived in the area, this would definitely be our go-to place!

The service was outstanding, and the food was enjoyable, although one of us ordered a Reuben that had very little sauerkraut. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, while the fish and chips were excellent as well. The fries were also quite good. They had a fantastic selection of beers. However, the décor was overwhelming—there was a huge amount of fire department memorabilia cluttering every surface, along with excessive Halloween decorations that felt a bit too much. The window we were sitting next to was quite dirty, and the rugs could really use a good cleaning. Additionally, the music was coming from a radio station playing awful pop songs, not to mention the commercials. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere really detracted from our experience.

Delicious food. (And I'm being honest . We got the fireman appetizer (and more and it was SO well cooked. The oil they used was clean and there was no mixing of flavors (our mozzarella sticks didn't taste like our mushrooms which was great! Our server wasa super nice young gal who figuratively wrapped our experience up with a bow. : I'll def be back!

I really like this place; the food, service, and atmosphere are all fantastic. The upstairs museum area is really neat. I brought my kids along, and they found the kids' menu to be a great choice for them.
