Shaws Fish And Chips Of Dodworth

Had to be in Dodworth on business this week, and finished up eating here Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Had the haddock and chips on both occasions, and I can honestly say, it is the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life. The fish is large, and cooked to perfection with a crispy batter. I honestly wish this place was closer to me here in Scotland. Cannot rant and rave about this place enough

We was disappointed on this visit, 4 fish and chips ordered. 2 fish were good inside, the other 2 were poor. The fish was not white and the batter was too much. Used to be excellent but after covid seems to have dropped standards.

First, my taxi driver said it was the best place to eat in Barnsley. Second, their website suggested preordering to avoid the line, and third, when the hotel staff advised going to Shaws, vice dining in the hotel restaurant, I knew I had to try it! Long line to get in and order at 1730, but line moved quickly. Great selection….I went with the cod box…10.20 for a HUGE piece of cod, with chips, beans and a cherry cola! Outstanding meal!
