Aksular Restaurant Meze Bar

This review mainly focuses on the takeaway and delivery service, but if the takeaway food is any indication, the restaurant itself must be fantastic. It's definitely the best kebab in Romford, at the very least.

The food was tasty and fairly priced, but my experience was disappointing. I had become a regular here because of the convenience, but the treatment I received was lacking. The portions were on the smaller side, leaving the plate looking rather empty upon arrival. I noticed staff reprimanding children, and there was not a single smile from the employees during my visit. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm now looking for a new place, as I dread encountering the gloomy faces of the staff while they serve my food.

I have used this restaurant on a regular basis but not anymore. I waited forever for a delivery when I phoned I was told he was outside. He had gone to the wrong address, he insisted on payment before giving me the food, as I turned to pick up my purse from beside me he stormed off with my food. Having used this restaurant on a regular basis for several years I was astounded to be treated in this way therefore I have removed all my previous reviews and will never use again neither will any of my friends or family. As a PTSD sufferer living alone I did not expect to be shouted at or feel threatened. The food is OK but there are many other better ones in the area.

Have been ordering about once or twice a week for a couple of years now, and just had the most disappointing experience here. We placed an order for delivery, but when it came, the rice was soggy like a porridge. It had been soggy the time before too, but had just thought that they had an off day, but being the second time in a row, and much worse than last time, I called to let them know, only to be told “I know, I saw it before it went out of the door”! I asked why it had been allowed out of the door like that, and was told that “it’s only water, it doesn’t matter, there was an accident with the amount of water added”! I told them that it did matter, and that the rice had arrived mushy and inedible twice in a row now, but was met with “well what do you want me to do? I will look after you next time” to which I replied “There won’t be a next time”! Never ever again, and they have lost a loyal customer!

Ordered a starter and main came to £12.50. The food arrived before the hour that was stated. It was tasty and hot, bread rice and salad was included. I thought this was well worth the money. Will order from here again.
