Kings Family - Barkeyville

Food: daily specials are a good value. The half sandwich half soup for $7 was solid. You can get chili for soup, and it has generous portions of meat. The sandwiches were good overall with good amounts of meat and cheese. Food came out in about 10 minutes for 3 people. Service: lacking and disappointing. Was just stared at when my family came in. How was I supposed to know if I was to take a seat or if somebody would seat me? When I proactively asked if we should seat ourselves, I headed towards an open area, then was gruffly told that the area was closed off. Again... how was I supposed to know? The staff was understaffed, and the 2 individuals we interacted with seemed quite uninterested in everything.

The server was great. I ordered the cod that was suppose to be topped with shrimp and spinach. It had one shriveled up shrimp. It was very bland and unappealing to the eyes. My son's pot roast sandwich was good. I hope the kitchen is cleaner than the bathrooms. Decades of dust on the tile.

If I could give this place negative stars I definitely would! Had the worst experience there this morning. I have 2 broken wrist and the weight of the metal hurts them. So I asked the waiter for plastic silverware and he had the worst attitude ever and said no we only have metal. The manager even had an attitude. Both of them should go back to bed and try getting out of the other side and restart their day. Funny thing is...I ate here last week and they had plastic and the waitress had no problem giving me the plastic which they use for to go orders. Definitely not a place for people to go that have disabilities. I WILL NOT BE STEPPING FOOT IN HERE AGAIN!! I will be asking my attorney what to do with this situation.

Food is delicious and the aroma floating through the restaurant is divine. Wide range of meal on the menu, Atmosphere is relaxing, but as for customer service not so much; hope it didn't have any to do with the color of or skin. Our server was cold and distant and we had to keep reminding her of what we ordered although she had no problem remembering the other customers order. Everything else was A+.

Nice local restaurant, good food, very attentive wait staff, reasonable prices, easy off and on, i80 exit 29, barkeyville, pa. Definitely returning
