The breadsticks were overly hard and difficult to chew, and the mozzarella sticks were served cold. Overall, we were quite disappointed. In our group of four, one person had to wait five minutes longer than the rest of us for their calzone to arrive. It was not an impressive experience.
I ordered chicken piccata, but the noodles were dry and cold, and the chicken had no seasoning at all; it looked either microwaved or boiled. We also ordered calamari, which was subpar, and the marinara sauce was merely tomato paste served in a plastic ramekin—definitely not what we expected. My husband chose chicken marsala, and his dish suffered from the same issues: dry and cold noodles and a flavorless sauce that resembled watered-down brown food coloring. He then tried a calzone, but it was severely undercooked—the dough was still raw. Overall, we were very disappointed and relieved to see a McDonald's on the way home, as we were still hungry.
I wish I had taken a picture of the food because it was fantastic. There was no wait, and we were seated right away. The hostess and waitress were incredibly friendly and attentive.
My eggplant Parmesan was very greasy. My husband had Italian sausage and peppers with whole wheat pasta. The sausage had a texture similar to bologna, and didn't taste anything like any Italian sausage and the pasta was regular semolina. I could understand if the sausage was advertised as perhaps homemade , but don't expect actual sausage. The free bread sticks were actually very dry pizza crust with a bit of Italian seasoning and pizza sauce. Rather dissatisfied, cuz we love Italian food.
Located in Bardstown, KY this place is a nice establishment to get lunch or plan for dinner. We came midweek so it was not busy at all. Our waitress seated us and handed us menus and took our drink orders. They had different appetizers to choose from, along with calzones, pizza, and pasta dishes. My friend opted for the meatball calzone; for myself, I went for the pasta Milantoni. Food took roughly 20-25min. Waitress apologized for the wait and provided us free cheesy bread. The calzone was huge, and my friend was unable to even eat half. She states flavor was good, and side of marinara complimented well. My pasta was doused in Alfredo. Great flavor, a little buttery and i think the mushrooms were canned. Overall, nice spot, friendly service, and good ambiance.
