We decided to take our chances because other reviews were great. We got there about 3pm to check in. A welcome note and keys were waiting for us. Not only was the cottage was spotless it had so much character. It was just what we were looking for and walkable to downtown. We would absolutely recommend the Colonels Cottage Inn's and look forward to our next visit to Bardstown Kentucky.
The millstone cottage , The pink cottage beware filled with mold and mildew you can't even breathe it makes you very sick overpriced and the air conditioning does not work
They are now a bed and breakfast so save the trip unless you plan to make reservations.
The bourbon course and tasting session is just OK and it could be run in thirty minutes without the waffle and rambling and not the actual two hours. What I do object to as a tourist is getting ripped off, especially in the United States and in a part of the country known for its hospitality. We were sent on the advice of the Colonel and his wife to Toddy's liquor store (run by best friend of the Colonel's wife) nearby, with a couple of bourbon recommendations. What were presented as rare and difficult bottles to buy were outrageously marked up and as it turns out readily available elsewhere. Case in point the Eagle Rare sold to us for $79.95 and available for $34 at Buffalo Trace. There was even the charade of storing the bottles on the top shelf behind the counter. The irony is that these people would expect to be treated with honesty and fairness when they themselves are tourists.
