Restaurante Chuva - Barcelos

One of the waiters speaks a little English and they have a menu in English. Follow their advice on portions. Often one portion will easily feed two adults. Starve yourself all day and treat yourself to a steak on a stone. Huge and tender

Our innkeeper sent us to Chuva for lunch after we had arrived from an overnight flight. Just what the doctor ordered. We shared the house special monkfish stew, which was outstanding (we know from seafood, coming from a fishing town). The flavor was intense and rich without being overbearing. Our waiter was attentive and professional and helpful with a wine recommendation. We would definitely go back when we are in Barcelos again.

An amazing experience I would say the best picanha I have had. For 22 euros to feed 2 people you can't ask for better. We also had sangria vinho tinto for 14 euros amazing. Will be coming back.

This restaurant was near our hotel during our holiday in Portugal. The hotel had recommended the restaurant but the first days we not yet had followed any of the hotel recommendations. Finally we decided to give this one a try. We quickly regretted not coming here any earlier. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. There was English speaking staff and a menu in English was also available. We looked at various dishes when the waiter told us that the most of the portions were more than enough for two people. We were very grateful for that suggestion as the portions were indeed enough to share. Inside the restaurant the kitchen is behind a big glass wall which enables you to see directly what is being prepared there. We selected the Picanha which was served on a hot stone. The meat was wonderful. I really want to recommend the staff. Two of them that helped us in English were truly friendly. It didn't seem fake friendly as you sometimes see in other restaurants. Really liked that here. If time allows I will definitely come back.

We arrived at 15h30 and the staff was very polite and allowed us to eat : . Food was great, good service, and great price. Very typical Portuguese meals, portion size and quality. No wonder this is my family election restaurant.
