Dinner last night was our first time dining at Nomm. We experienced a rare treat and one we intend to repeat! It was a fantastic experience from the first contact to our arrival, after which we were presented with one magical, delicious course after the other all paired with great wine. Peter is a brilliant Chef and creative person, influenced by a unique, global perspective about food, people, and life (and you will love his wicked sense of humor). Polina, Peter's partner, is an extraordinary, warm, and charming person. They make a great team and their shared joie de' vivre is clearly at the heart of everything they do, which was evident throughout our entire meal. Our dining companions were wonderful, very interesting, and a joy to be around. Dinner at Nomm turned out to be an unexpected and most welcome bonding experience! It clear everyone loved each and every Michelin level delicious dish that came from Peter's kitchen to the table. Bravo Peter and Polina! Thank you for sharing your hearts, amazing talents, humor, and for creating a very special experience for all of us. Until next time!
Peter was an awesome host. Everything was perfect. Nice people, delicious and creative food, joyful atmosphere. We had a great New Year dinner and invaluable experience. Will see you again when we are in BCN next time.
Barcelona has a lot of Asian restaurants but most of them cater to timid tastes and most of them are pretty generic. Nomm ain’t that. The owner/chef is from Hong Kong, and the food is a mix of Hong Kong staples, Malaysian, Japanese and dim sum. I’m not an expert in these cuisines but I do know enough to know when quality is high and when I’m eating something that’s faithful to the original. This is faithful to the original, prepared with skill and with quality ingredients. Standouts are wontons with house made chili oil and beef rendang. The chili oil isn’t crazy spicy but it’s got a lovely deep complexity and nuttiness. The rendang is complex and deeply satisfying. The place is also groovy. Cool art, good music, good cocktails, and the other owner who works front of house is charming and warm. They’re located in super hip Sant Antoni, so they’re a great start to a big night. Nomm is in every way a standout in BCN’s boring Asian food scene. Highly recommended!
Went there for dinner and the food was so tasteful. We ordered about 6-8 dishes and each one was unique and delicious. The ribs are a must try, the wontons in hot sauce are amazing. The cocktails are really good too. All the meats and ingredients taste extremely fresh. Paulina, our hostess, was a darling! Will definitely stop by if we’re in Barcelona again and would recommend it to anyone looking for good Asian food!
This discrete and yet valuable gem is located right at the heart of Barcelona's lively Paral.lel, hardly 10 minutes walk from Light and Sound Fountain in Plaça d'Espanya. Let chef Peter and his crew surprise you. You will not be dissapointed.
