Essentially still a fresh food Market, there are now far more stalls serving food for direct on...the spot consumption. Wander around and choose a spot. We're pleased to report that the essence of this fantastic market prevails! Our favorite tiny seafood eat-at counter has disappeared, however, there are now many more stalls at which one can sit at counter, choose your fresh seafood (or tapas) to be cooked and enjoy with a glass of wine or beer. We cant ever get past the fried baby calimari, grilled king prawns, langoustines and a glass or two of tempranillo. Perfectly cooked. And there are many many choices. Enjoy!
Me encantó, everyone leaves bad reviews... pero la verdad es que me trataron bien, respondieron a mis preguntas y la calidad por el precio es perfecta.
Our family of 7 voted this the best fish and shellfish tapas in Spain!! Locate the Mercat de la Boquaria (open food market) on the west side of La Rambla and walk the market perimeter there are many outdoor cafes there including A' Kaskarla....Great service, noisy vibrant market atmosphere including music buskers and busy food stalls. Just immerse yourself in this environment for another level of eateries. Order beverages including Sangaria, Mineral water and a local wine nero (our equivalent of red wine otherwise you'll get rose Prices are reasonable, but like some seafoods (prawns, oysters, lobster) they can add up on the bill. Enjoy
If we ever go away, people will insist on telling us that we are looking for food and water. now, when in Spanish do as the Spanish do, drink wine and eat well. after a morning of the website to see barcelona and a good...to foot up and down la rambla, we visited the market area, you could have a fortune and a day and ask where it was going. but eating and drinking was just fantastic. we have tried food from all over the world, from every culture and nationality. streetfood is the heart and soul of any culture, taste of taste and ambientes, I spent the afternoon skipping bar to bar and eating stall to eat. So eat and enjoy, taste new taste and taste, but only once they live, I do this in every city and land we visit, so eat them and be happy.
We stumbled over this tiny restaurant while we try to fight our way through the drongs and queues on the market. a perfect location at the rande of the market with very friendly and courteous owners and large freshly prepared and delicious seafood. brilliant!
