I have been a long advocate of Naga cuisine and I loved it since I tried it first around two decedes ago in the Naga Kitchen itself opposite to DDK, Zoo Road when they first started on their centre table and single dining table at the owner's rented house. There was a homely touch with limitted items on the menu of smoked and fresh porks with bamboo shoots, Akuni, Anishi, etc. Now, that they have gone fully comercial and opened two restaurants in Guwahati and I was out of the city for many years, I tried again with my family and to simply put, I loved it. That day they were out of akhuni, but we tried soups, smoked pork starters with bamboo shoots and other pork and chicken items and they were so mouthwatering and well cooked, exept the local chicken in naga curry was loaded with mashes potatoes. Overall ambiance of the restaurant at Rukminigaon was very good. As I always advocate for less spicy, less oily, healthy food and fine dining, those who care about their health and less calories in their diet, must try once. I will definitely visit again to try other dishes in the menu and recommend others to change their palate from typical North Indian spicy, oily foods to healthy foods of our ethnicity and neighbourhood.
