Improvacadia - Bar Harbor

Very funny troop and good selection of beer and wine. The 10 pm show is not for kids (which is a good thing)

If you don't see them at least once while you are in Bar Harbor you are missing out on a memorable night that you won't forget with the those with you. Improv is obviously never the same one night to another but ImprovAcadia makes it even more unique each night with the audience input they take for some of their skits and bits and especially their tailored retelling of the romance story of two of the audience members attending (with them volunteering of course). The cast changes quite frequently as well so you might be lucky enough to catch two completely different casts during your stay, and if you are lucky enough to have this opportunity I implore you to take it.

I was really pleasantly surprised to see an improv group in Bar Harbor. My family (which included a 15 year boy and a 13 year old girl) and I went to the early show, which is billed as family friendly . To be honest, I wasn 't worried about that but it was good to know that the show wouldn 't go really blue. The performance was excellent really really funny and the cast really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I was really tempted to take the family back for a second show later in the week. My son is not a fan of any type of live performance (my daughter loves it all) and the cast had him laughing out loud. He really had a great time and winning him over is a testament to how good the cast is. There 's not a tremendous amount of things to do in Bar Harbor at night outside of dinner and going to see a movie Improv Acadia is a must see when you 're in Bar Harbor. The theater is small (second floor, over a diner) so there 's no such thing as a bad seat and the service is really good and the staff are very friendly. You can say hello to the cast after the show and they were very engaging. Highly recommend this. They only serve light snacks, you 're not going to have dinner there

Looking for nightlife in Bar Harbor look no further! We went for Wednesday Karaoke night. We had a blast listening so some freaky great talent! There were some locals as well as out of towners and the talent was incredible! They do much more than karaoke, they have a bunch of different things going on throughout the week. There is a full bar also! Definitely worth trying out!

We got lucky— the actual improv team was back this week and the show was phenomenal. I hate to bring up SNL, but we couldn’t help but feel that at least one to two of the troupe were SNL quality talent. If you are lucky enough to be in Bar Harbor during an Improv Acadia show (they are now hosting other shows besides Improv), treat yourself to a delightful evening of quick witted improv. You will definitely not be sorry.
