I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. The trout entrée is delicious, just like the albacore tuna sandwich. The Reuben is another favorite of mine. However, my top pick from the menu has to be the potato salad—I always make sure to get some to take home. As for the service, it's outstanding! I really don't understand the negative reviews some people have left for the owner. She is warm, friendly, and very attentive—truly a helpful person! The food is absolutely delicious! It's a fantastic spot for vegetarians. I enjoyed the egg salad sandwich, soup, and a chocolate cake—everything was so tasty. We'll definitely be returning!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about food crowd and amazing staff. We are from Charlotte and searched desserts for our Labor Day wedding outside of Boone. Meryle was very easy to work with and helped us limit our selection, as everything on the menu looked wonderful! Our guest shaved all night over the dessert table filled with pecan pie, carrot cake, chocolate tarts, Victorian sponge cake and fruit galaxy. All cakes were so fresh and careful. We have eaten a hand full of times and recommend the curry chicken sandwich. What a jewel in the mountains! Thanks again! Nicki Corey

We stopped off and picked up a sampling of their pies just before closing time. The staff was helpful and super nice! We got pieces of 5 different pies/ cakes and all were great. The bakewell and lemon tarts are bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious, my kids devoured the chocolate layer cake, and I cant wait for the coconut cream which we were told was one of the best sellers. Great place for dessert, I guess we’ll have to try the rest of their food some time soon too!
