Average Indian food, one dish with chicken and the rest vegetarian. Price was reasonable for Canada.

This restaurant is well known and frequented by the South Asian population-and that is a good sign! We had to wait for about 20 minutes, as it was busy, even after 8 pm.But it was worth the wait! The service is friendly and professional, and the food exceeded anything we ever had before: balanced spicing and simply wonderful! We enjoyed the Chicken Korma, and another one of us had the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Mango Lassi was great and refreshing! Prices are reasonable, and this is a real jewel in Banff. They also advertise a lunch buffet.

For of us went on a trip through Canada and Alaska in May 2017. We stayed in Banff for two nights. On the first night the four of us ate elsewhere but on the way back to the motel we were totally mesmorised by the smells eminating from the Masala Restaurant (and that was on a full stomach!!!). We instantly decided to try it the next night. We were not disappointed.Friendly and attentive staff with a genuine interest in their customers. Now to the food. The best garlic naan and butter chicken we have EVER had. Can't remember the entrees or the other mains but I do remember they were wonderfully spiced and superbly cooked. At $15 - $25 US per main - quite good value, especially for Banff.

The service was warm, helpful and friendly and the food was just fantastic - really delicious. We had the chicken tiki masala, basmati rice and regular and garlic naan bread. I highly recommend this restaurant - definitely on our visit again list.
