Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe had a spare evening in Bandol in between visits to our trusted favourite eateries. We thought we'd return to Auberge as remembered it was good a few years ago. A nice welcome from our waitress from Normandy who spoke great English. The Gambas were, and I quote: "yummy" (delicious). The pizzas were all very tasty and great value. So in summary good food, good service and good value.
A super restaurant that honors its name. What a friendly and welcoming service. The most delicious dishes made with fresh products made for her guests. The finest restaurant we have eaten at times and a party to go back to. You have to reservate because we were not the only ones who knew this culinary ambiance.
We visited here twice whilst on holiday in Bandol, food great, wine great and service great. Would definitely recommend.
Dinner for 3, lucky to find a place, so reserve, the place was full. No fancy shmancy french cuisine. Grilled meats, tasty veggies and good looking pizzas. You can taste and smell the wood fire. Service is pleasant, maybe a bit rushed with our culinary particularities and allergies the server lost her composure for a second but overall pleasant and was able to answer our questions in English.My son and I had the rabbit and my wife had the seabass (loup) which I think it was actually a seabream (dorade) given its shape, but let's not upset her - shhhhhhh. Came with tasty garlic sauce on the side and large very tasty fries, veggies that actually tasted great although were cold (maybe it was by design). the greens were.... green and fresh an did not miss the radicchio which I personally hate. Suggested rose wine was great and decently priced.In a sea of pretty bad and overpriced cooking where the south of France floats, this was a refreshing island of simple, good tasting dishes, decently priced. (75e for 3 plates and a bottle of wine, not bad for the area)Oh, one more thing. I wish they had better lightling on the terrace. If you want to see your food and it's after sunset, ask for a table inside.
We went to this restaurant according to the good reviews and nice fotos but we were disappointed. First, we had to wait about 20 minutes until somebody came and took our orders. (the place was not full) We could sit only at the high tables (not so comfortable to eat) however there were more and more free tables outside the waiter said these are all booked, nobody came until we left around 21.45.. (probably these were tables only for 4 persons and not available for 2!)We ordered pizza, perhaps we should had eaten something else, something more "provencal"... It was Ok, not bad but not more then avarage and for 12 euro ... Actually in Marseille the day before the 1,50 euro sliced pizza had a much better taste!And please, if you don't use fresh herbs on the pizza then pleasse put much less dried oregano on the top, it's a little saffocating after a while.
