This place is in a good location and has a modern design. Service is generally friendly. Food and drink are nothing to write home about.

Great food and fantastic, friendly service. Despite the fact that it was a busy time the waiter was extremely attentive. Nice atmosphere , great view of the river and we went back for breakfast twice as it was so good.

Great coffee, delicious soup and a really relaxed setting right by the river. Perfect place to chill out after a days sightseeing.

I've been coming to Kranen Caffe for years now about times a year. Basically everytime I'm in Bamberg this is the place that I choose to have a nice lunch at and also enjoy a drink. The staff is usually formed out of...students and they are more than happy to make sure that you are served nicely. I've had Veronika as my waiter and she was amazing. Always smiling, always making sure that I was ok, cleaned my table immediately after I finished my food making space for me to be able to work. She was simply great. The Caffe offers a great selection of drinks, including the famous Bamberg Smoked Beer, but also non alcoholic drinks and my favourite one is the mango juice with soda water. Food wise, this is the place where I'm always having Chili con carne. Is the best one i've tried, but they also have salads, sandwiched and pastries. Free wi-fi is available at very good speed but you need to ask from the waiters a token that you can use with username and password. The tokens are valid for one hour and for one device only, but you can get as many as you need and the waiters are happy to give it to you. I'm returning here everytime i'm in Bamberg.
