Bahia - Balzan

I chose a plant-based 8-course dinner at this restaurant. It is difficult to express this experience in words. These were dishes of the highest quality with rarely heard ingredients that gave the palate a fiesta of flavors not yet tasted. It's heartwarming when a restaurant puts as much effort into preparing plant-based dishes as it does conventional dishes. Careful work was felt in every dish. I also had the opportunity to taste local wines by the glass. The service was friendly and professional. I dream of coming back here again in the future.

We had high hopes for Bahia based on the Michelin review and Google photos. We were planning to go for the ala carte menu, but upon review nothing stood out to us, so we opted for the ‘old Malta’ prix fix for 8 courses (the courses are unknown at the time of ordering). We were not blown away. Favorites were the palette cleanser and desserts. The fish and rabbit main courses were OK. We tend to be underwhelmed by places like this, so take this review with a grain of salt if small tasting menus are your jam.

Wow, what a place located in a wonderfull hotel. We went for the Gourmet Menu past it was a dining experience through the history of Malta. It was one of the most enjoyfull dinners we had for a long time. The food was great and really nice. The staff was very friendly and did a great job! How ever i think the waiting time between the courses was a bit long. But this wasnt a problem since we had enough things to talk about. After the dinner, as we were the last guests, we were even invited to take a look inside the kitchen and have a little talk with the chef and sous chef. They all did a great job and deserve this 1* in the Guide Michelin!! Thanks for this great evening. Were coming back to try the future menue one day!

It is nice experience but unfortunately not the best. I am leaving 3 stars as average of the below ratings: Location 5 the restaurant has an sophisticated design Food 4 food was good but the two options of the past menù: the waffle was not great, gin tonic foam was too aggressive. The bread instead was incredible. Service 2 we had to wait to order, we have been told that the menu was not revealed whilst is in the website, we had to wait to order, me and my guest had different menu and sometimes we were not receiving the right plate, wine was dropped on the table during the service and w e have been told the amaro was from the house and after I found it in the bill, which is not a great deal but inconsistency is not acceptable.

Amazing place, with very interesting degustation menu and wine pairing. Delicious food, perfect service. Gonna return here to taste all of it
