The Verandah Kitchen In Hampden

My fiancé and I enjoyed dinner at The Verandah on a busy Sunday evening. We opted to sit at one of the outdoor tables and had a truly marvelous experience. The cuisine was divine and the family who owns and operates the restaurant was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried six different small plates, which the restaurant specializes in, and each one was unique and delicious. The paneer kofta and samosa chaat were especially outstanding. The chilli chicken and amritsari fish fry exceeded our expectations and were incredibly tasty. We also enjoyed the vada paav and kheema paav, although the vada paav came with spicy roasted serrano peppers, so beware! Every dish impressed us and was among the best Indian food we have ever had. The family engaged us in conversation about the menu items and their passion for cooking and serving. We highly recommend The Verandah and will definitely be returning often. Additionally, the restaurant is BYOB, which is a great added bonus for a cozy neighborhood spot like this.

Eating at Varendah has become a new Saturday tradition for me. I love their small plates and ginger mint lemonade - they are delicious and incredibly fresh. The Trini doubles and Vada Pav are the best I've had on the East Coast, and the service is amazing too. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, but the entrées are not as great.

Recommend Tikka Marsala and Malai Kabab. Not a fan of their Saag and watch out for heat of Vada Paav

Second time coming ! Even better than the first. Started with a couple small plates, veg samosa, Lamb Vindaloo, salmon, Trini Doubles. ALL smashing; favorites were the Doubles and Salmon. Then an entree of Shrimp Kurma that was incredible all around, great shrimp, amazing curry, good portion and beautiful presentation.
