The Original Pancake House - Baltimore

Came in on a gloomy Tuesday for some pancakes . A friend of mine had mentioned this place , so I figured I give it a try . Came in around noon and the place was empty, yet very clean. The smell of hot pancakes was every where . . I ordered the 2x2x3 meal pancakes , eggs and sausage and it was just okay . The pancakes had a weird after taste to it that I couldn't quite out my finger on . My scrambled eggs could have been scrambled a tab bit harder and was sausage was great as is. Overall my food was just okay . My friend said his waffle was on point ! So basically the food was okay not bad nor great . Our waitress was nice and attentive . I would come back just to try other items like their French toast

Alright so this is the 2nd time I've been here. I went here when it first opened up and knew there was going to be some issues but not as many that I had. This time the service was much better. The food tasted good and was hot, but here is the thing...if you compare pictures to what someone else got on another day you can tell they are skimping on things. The potato pancakes seemed like they were split in half and flattened. The amount of corned beef hash was small. Definitely not worth the money that I paid. If they didn't skimp on things, they probably would have gotten a 4.5. Now the one I would go to in Atlanta was always good and always worth the money. This one won't get my business again. I tried them as I saw all the stars and figured it got better. Sadly, the service and taste of the food is there...just not the amount....I also forgot ...when did 18% gratuity become a part of the bill?!? Luckily, the service was good otherwise I wouldn't have paid that part of the bill.

It was disorganized and needed a serious cleaning. We didn't even bother to sit and eat. We really wanted to give it a chance but booth were sticky. What used to be the bar area has cobwebs and kinds presented poorly. After we were seated, we wait led about 10mins and still no server. We took this as a sign and left. The ambience and the service were truly lacking.

This is my first time actually visiting this spot, but I have had food brought to me from the restaurant, and each time the food has been delicious. The pancakes though are so light and fluffy . I love that other famous pancake spot but I think this spot got them beat, omg and the syrup has like a nutty flavor to me its so good.

I'm not sure what food I was served that everyone else wasn't but I am not a fan. Maybe it was due to it being delivered and there's no love in to-go food, I don't know. It's on par with IHOP except for small differences like fresh fruit on their pancakes and fresh specialty syrups. I had the tropical syrup which tastes just like orange juice and while the syrup by itself was amazing it made my pancakes taste bitter. I had two different types of pancakes (pecan and bacon) to try the syrup on. Some cute powdery pancakes would've been nice. Everyone else receives a nice powdered sugar pancake but I surely did not. I also am not a fan of pillow pancakes. They remind me of the frozen pancakes. I prefer some texture with my pancakes. Preferably a crunchy outer ring. There was no way to customize my iced coffee on Ubereats so of course they sent it black with no sweetener. I saw they sent half and half, I was fine with that but table sugar in an iced beverage is insane and I'm tired of acting like it's okay. Is it common sense or is it proper disregard? You know table sugar doesn't melt in cold beverages, so why? The over-easy eggs were okay but unseasoned and the bacon was extremely salty and could afford a better crunch. I've had a few OPH locations bookmarked for some time. Let me take them off my list.
