We stumbled upon this charming little restaurant after visiting our daughter in the NICU, and what a delightful surprise it was! The atmosphere was fantastic, featuring vibrant chalkboard art showcasing all the fresh sushi specials. Our service was exceptional – truly one of the best server-bartenders we've ever encountered! The sushi was delicious and arrived before my fiancé even made it out of the bathroom! We can't wait for our next visit!

One memorable occasion, when the upstairs area wasn't open, we sat downstairs. A regular server noticed us and informed Tim, the owner, who then invited us to dine upstairs. That level of customer service truly amazed my husband and me; we never imagined we meant so much to them that they would accommodate us like that. Without a doubt, Shiso Tavern offers the best sushi in town. We haven't encountered another restaurant that matches their combination of service, price, and flavor. The nigiri is top-notch, and their "Baked" roll is an absolute must-try—it's melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The kimchi, made in-house, is also the most flavorful we've found anywhere. As someone who works in customer service, I appreciate how challenging it can be to hire great staff and keep customers satisfied, but Tim has managed to do it all—even while preparing sushi on a busy Sunday. He always takes a moment to engage in conversation and personally thank each customer as they leave the upstairs area. With service like this, Tim and his fantastic team will definitely continue to see us every week!
