The Mustard Seed - Ballingarry

What better way to enjoy a relaxing, pampering break while surrounded by natural beauty; than a visit to The Mustard Seed, Ballingarry, County Limerick? Arriving mid-week for an overnight stay, we were warmly welcomed and soon sipping coffee in a drawing room filled with books and charming pictures and portraits. Delicious food and a very comfortable bed ensured one of the best night’s sleep myself and my husband have had in a while. I thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to feel refreshed and taken care of to a very high standard. We will return.

The restaurant is in a great location and has a cozy atmosphere. The main waiter could improve their attitude and professionalism, but the host is wonderful and truly cares about your dining experience. They use fresh vegetables and fruits from their garden, as well as locally sourced meats and fish. The menu changes regularly, but the fish dinners and lamb dishes come highly recommended. However, the hotel room is in need of some attention and care.

One of the best eating experiences….. up there with chapter one. 4 course for reasonable prices. John was a knowledgable sommelier. Useful range of 1/2 bottles. Pre-dinner drinks in sociable lounge, followed by spacious table and nice range of foods. I had a rabbit terrine followed by a fabulous tasting soup, then a pan fried hake, then a fruit desert. The staff were very engaging and a little fun. It is worth the journey, and next time we will book accommodation.

Had a lovely meal, really enjoyed the ambience , we loved the cheese selection and the wine was absolutely fantastic! we will come back for sure!

We stayed and ate here. Room was special and dinner was excellent. The experience was superb overall and we were really secure with the steps put in place to protect us from COVID.
