Mrs. H's Fish Chips - Bala

I ordered the halibut and chips, which came with three pieces of fresh halibut coated in a slightly crispy batter. The halibut was the standout of the meal, earning it five stars. However, the fries were a bit soggy as they seemed to be commercial rather than freshly cut, and the coleslaw was a bit bland, possibly needing more sugar and salt for added flavor. Despite this, the portions were generous and the meal was a great value for the price. I will definitely be ordering again in the future!

This is a great pit stop as you travel along the 400. The price is a reasonable, and the portions are huge. Everything is fried to order which makes it all the more enticing, we got the halibut fish and chips which was three pieces and a lot of french fries. We were able to split an order between two adults. Their credit and debit machine was down, so make sure you have some cash!

I used to love the fish and chips here but sometimes the batter is way too much! The fish looks big but when you cut it in the middle, there's more batter than the fish. And their fries is so soggy and oily too. On top of that, their gravy is so dark and salty.

Best fish n chips I've ever had. Portions are really big so down size from what you think you are ready to eat. Very quick service and fresh, light battered fish. I'll make a point of going back next time I'm in the area. Thanks again !

I go here at least 10 times a year, and that's more than any other fish and chips store anywhere around me. It's worth the drive to Mrs. H's ,normally she would get a 5 out of 5, but they changed their French fries to the skinny Stix that look like McDonald's fries, there were so many over cooked fries that I threw about a 3rd of them away. Ok so that's all of my complaints, the Fish is the best you can get anywhere, big chunks of delicious battered fish, with fresh squoze lemon and Tartar sauce, wash it all down with a coke, then just enjoy what happy feels like.
