Asahi Japanese Restaurant - BAKERY HILL

Positioned on a motel and facing a quiet street you are not quite sure what you expect from this restaurant, but fear not! Asahi offered a wonderful Japanese experience. The waitress was fantastic, to welcome, to sit, recommend and serve all who recorded with such efficiency skill and passion. No earlier I was comfortable on my seat having made a free appetite suppressant appear, a wonderful little dish that was designed for what to follow. I chose the Yakiniku (BBQ Wagyu beef and onion, with broccoli flakes, homemade swan and steamed rice), followed by the Dora Yaki (sweet bean pancakes) for dessert. The Wagyu was tender, the onions were beautiful and caramelized and the Slave-in-law was fresh and tangy. The pancake was soft, with the filling luscious and rich, without being overwhelming. The ice fits well and you would expect as well as the golden syrup puzzle, although maple syrup could have been a better option. Nice touch with the fresh strawberry too. Very cheap, fast and good quality food, easy to park. Very recommended!

Eight of us were there and after a conversation with the wonderful staff we left them to choose what we serve (including a celiac). The food we shared was just fantastic and we make the trip of Melbourne every week if we could. The prices were very reasonable, and the wine and beer we had to go with the food was just right and cheap. These people take care of doing it right!

At this point we really had no high hopes for Desserts. I didn't want to write the place yet, I ordered her dessert special Amaretti Biscuit cake Alas, it was very soft and non-binding. We were always rushed by the rude manager called Federico, although the dessert arrived only at 12:55. The bill came for us at 13:07 and we were basically expelled to rethink our welcome.

The food is amazing! They only had a waitress for the whole night and she was fantastic, busy, but managed to take care of every big job!

We had a wonderful lunch there with eight people after visiting the Archibald prize exhibition. The staff were very friendly and helpful with description of the food served. Perfect sized portions and variety of food provided. Thankyou
