Skillets Diner - Bakersfield

The dining experience was fantastic, the waitress was very friendly, but there seemed to be a lack of support staff. The waitress was left to handle everything on the floor, from taking orders to serving coffee and bringing extra napkins.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I was not impressed. We arrived at 12 o'clock on Friday and it was not very busy, with only about 5 tables, most of which already had their food. The service was slow and it took at least 25-30 minutes to receive our orders of a burger and a French toast combo. The food arrived slightly warm and tasted okay, but nothing particularly outstanding. The burger, which I ordered medium, was pretty good. Overall, there are much better restaurants in Bakersfield.

I had a delicious Cobb salad and my server, Ceann, was very friendly. The other servers also seemed eager to assist each other and ensure that customers were satisfied. The servers named Gretchen and Belle were especially helpful. I look forward to returning to this restaurant!

It's regrettable that I write that. we have come to this diner for a few years at least three times a month. came on Sunday end february, we sat fast and the host got drunk. coffee was burned and our attempt to get someone's attention went unanswered. he waited near 15 minutes and never saw a waitress and someone who sat after us had already received her food. so we went. the owner we talked to regularly was not there. a few times called to talk to the owner. every time they weren't in. today called and said they don't know when the owner was and didn't know when the manager was in nd would not accept a message. the last step is to write this, because the personal does not care and the owners are not available. terrible that you went down the hill. I hope it will be better

I only came here thinking I could get some basic diner fare and unlimited coffee as I had some work to do and time to kill before a flight. So I posted up in a booth with my Chromebook and was pleasantly surprised to see they had huevos rancheros on special. I rolled the dice but hit it big as this was DEAD ON and even came with a side of pinto beans. This is the food I love to eat. Very pleasant servers this place is a gold mine. Highly recommended.
